I used to detest this time of year. It was always a sign that winter was coming and with it, the dark, cold nights and weird temperatures where I didn’t know how to dress! But over the last few years, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of the season and it is one of my favourite time of year! I think my thought process changed when I went to university. Autumn then became a time for a new beginning and a new chapter. It seems that good things always happen in autumn and it is one of the reasons we named our daughter Autumn.
Since having a baby, I feel like I’ve lost my mojo with instagram, my blog and being creative. I never seem to find the time to sit down and write, or come up with new ideas. But then I realised I do have the time, except I then waste it by sitting in front of the TV or scrolling through apps on my phone. I don’t want to be a one-dimensional blogger. I want to find that spark of creativity and give myself something to focus on, rather than just the baby (as much as I love her).
As I love creating autumnal content, I am excited to get everything sorted in the house and do things like visit a pumpkin patch, bake some cookies, and cover the house in fairy lights and candles! I’m also going to go all out with Autumn this year (my baby that is). She has brought so much joy to my life that I want to show her off in every way.
I have decided to create a hashtag on instagram. I’m hoping it will take off but if not, it will be a nice little collection of photos that I can look back on. The hashtag is #smallautumnaljoys and you can use it for anything and everything autumn related! I’m going to be creating a variety of content including food and lifestyle. I’ve already started creating an inspo board on Pinterest and instagram. Now all I need to do is to wait for the crunchy leaves, frosty mornings and those cosy nights in.
My autumn bucket list this year includes:
- visit to the pumpkin patch
- Baking some cookies
- Decorating the house
- Making some homemade hot chocolate
- Going to a firework display with Autumn
- Dressing Autumn up in the cutest clothes
- Participating in the annual autumn hashtag challenge
- Binge watching all of the Harry Potter films
What’s on your bucket list for autumn?
I hope you’ll join me in sharing my hashtag and I will be sharing my favourite posts each week – hopefully it won’t just be mine on there!
